Professional Multi-Day Studio Workshops

If you're looking for a professional level certificated course, and a chance to build your portfolio pieces then these multi-day workshops are for you.
These workshops are run in-person from our Kent based studio in small groups. Covering traditional & contemporary techniques in; Marbling, Wood Graining, Faux Stone, Broken Colourwash, Aging & Distressing, Rusting, Craquelure and Antiquing.

CPD Accredited Courses
Starting in March 2025, we now offer professionally created, accredited courses. These courses are ideal for professionals looking to expand their skillset and qualifications. We currently offer two accredited courses one in the art of traditional faux marbling and another in faux wood graining.
Each course is worth 12 CPD points. Are CPD courses are run on multiple sites so please take note of the course location at the time of booking.
Online Courses
If you prefer to learn from home our online courses are comprehensive and easy to follow are built for you. With step-by-step video tutorials, these courses are carefully designed for all abilities.

You will receive 12 months 24 hour access to the course content so you can learn at your own pace. You will also benefit from ongoing support and assistance via email or through the exclusive members' forum.
Studio Workshops
Our studio workshops offer a friendly space to learn a variety of traditional paint effect techniques alongside like-minded individuals. The 1-day workshops are run in small groups and are delivered by a professional with over 30 years experience.

Meet The Director & Instructor - Simon Nobs
For over 35 years I have been running Snobs Interiors - providing a high quality painting and decorating service for my clients throughout the UK and across Europe.
I am also a trained and qualified decorative paint effects artist, and CPD accredited tutor and course provider undertaking commissions in conservation and restoration work throughout the year. These services include, marbling, woodgraining, faux stone and broken colour painting techniques.
For the last 25 years, I have been teaching and running courses and workshops, in subjects ranging from, marbling and graining and broken colour paint techniques, to gilding and furniture restoration.
There are fewer and fewer opportunities for those who would like to learn the ancient art of traditional decorative paint effect techniques from an experienced professional. As a result, age old skills such as woodgraining, faux marbling and broken colour paint effects are slowly being lost and forgotten.
To prevent these skills from disappearing altogether, I have carefully designed a number of comprehensive courses and workshops to enable anyone who has an interest in the craft to tackle the more challenging aspects of decorative paint techniques with confidence, even though they may have had no previous experience.
